ÜBERBAU – is a new publishing house operating in Riga, Latvia. We aim at introducing the broader audiences to the texts that shed light on the future of the global world. Giving precedence to authors who peer beyond the horizon and expand our understanding of possible vectors of development, we do not confine ourselves to any particular genre, period, or language. Utopia or dystopia, political manifesto or scientific forecast – any work that addresses the question ‘what is to be done?’ is worthy of our readers' attention.
Since the dawn of civilization, both individuals and entire communities have been heavily concerned with the future. But never before has it felt as a common problem for all living on our planet. The future can no longer be left to the powerful; on the contrary, awareness of the problems it bears and of the many ways to address them is a responsibility shared by every thinking person today. Therefore we are set for knowledge dissemination, for putting our efforts into understanding and imagining various futures; because no matter how retrograde human nature may be, changes are inevitable. And the more predictable and meaningful these changes will be, the more likely they are for the better.

It is worth noting that the term borrowed from Marx does not limit the scope of our interests to his doctrine. For us, Marxism is just one of the brightest examples of forward thinking.
